Whether an organization or medical institution is operating at a profit can clearly be seen in job
costing. If more money is being spent in equipment and labor than is being taken in by patients and
insurance companies then there is clearly not a profit.
With the vast amount of expenses for medical services such as medication, xrays, MRIs and time spend from
doctors and nurses, job costing is the perfect way to go with profit and loss analysis.
If more analysis is needed one could integrate job costing with general ledger.
